Who are we? What do we do? And how does it work?

Recruitment Sisters

Who are the Recruitment Sisters?

Recruitment Sisters was founded by two sisters, Hilde and Nancy Steels. Together, we combine over 30 years of experience in recruitment, assessments, and guiding people to the right job.

We consciously choose to keep our agency small-scale, ensuring you always work directly with one of us — human, honest, and no-nonsense.

More about Nancy & Hilde

What does Recruitment Sisters do as a recruitment agency?

We are a recruitment agency for SMEs and companies across Flanders and Belgium, with a strong specialisation in IT. We are based in the Antwerp region, but work for clients from Ghent to Brussels.

We work small-scale and deliberately: you always work directly with Hilde or Nancy, two recruiters with a combined 30+ years of experience. No account managers, no intermediaries.

Our approach combines active search, personality assessments and a thorough intake interview — so we don't just find someone who can do what you ask, but someone who fits your team and culture.

What can Recruitment Sisters mean for you as an employer and recruitment partner?

We support companies in various ways. With our Recruitment as a Service packages, we take over parts of the recruitment process or the full process: from visibility to search, screening and selection. You decide what you want to handle yourself and what we take over.

We also help organisations find IT freelancers. We screen thoroughly and only introduce candidates who fit both technically and culturally.

If you temporarily need extra help in your team, you can also hire us as an additional recruiter, on an hourly or daily basis, remote or onsite. This gives you immediate support without long onboarding.

Recruitment Sisters is therefore more than a recruitment agency: we are a partner who thinks along with you, strengthens your team and takes work off your hands.

What does Recruitment Sisters mean for candidates?

We guide you in a human and clear way in your search for a new job. We listen to what matters to you, think along about your next step and only introduce you to companies where you truly fit  both in content and culture.

Applying with us is free, and you receive honest feedback and support throughout the entire process. Quality over quantity: no CV-pushing, but careful, human-centred matchmaking.

Can we hire you as an extra recruiter, without choosing a package?

Yes. You can hire us flexibly on an hourly or daily basis for temporary support within your team. This can be remote, onsite or hybrid.

Why should we work with you instead of a traditional recruitment agency?

Many recruitment agencies work on volume: the more CVs, the better. That is not how we work. With Recruitment Sisters, you get a partner who listens, thinks along with you and selects based on personality, culture and realistic fit. No stack of profiles, but people who truly add value.

We combine human insight with data and always work transparently, so you know exactly what we do and why. This way, recruitment does not feel like outsourcing, but like real collaboration.

Employers

How does your recruitment and selection process work, step by step?

Here is how the process works, depending on the package you choose:

1. Intake and briefing — we get to know your company, your team and your culture. We ask the right questions, including about salary expectations and realistic requirements.
2. Refining and writing the job description — we write a job description that speaks to the right candidates and performs well on job boards and Google.
3. Visibility and search — posting on relevant channels, active search via LinkedIn and other databases, outreach to passive candidates.
4. Screening — we screen on competencies, motivation and cultural fit. Where relevant, we use TalentTester assessments.
5. Shortlist — we only put forward candidates who truly fit. Not a pile of profiles, but a considered shortlist.
6. Follow-up through to start — we guide the process until the candidate has started, and remain available afterwards.

Can you handle a single vacancy or one specific hire?

Yes, absolutely. We are happy to support you, even if it concerns just one vacancy or a single recruitment need.

Do you also work for companies outside Antwerp?

Yes. We work for SMEs and companies across Belgium. Most of our clients are based in the Antwerp, Mechelen, Leuven and Brussels regions, but we regularly work beyond those areas too.

We screen candidates online. Intake meetings with you as a client take place online or at your office — whatever works best for you.

How do you assess cultural fit?

We start with an in-depth intake conversation to truly understand your company culture, values, and team dynamics. In addition, we use TalentTester (Big Five personality assessment and the four-colour personality model). This allows us to evaluate personality, values, and overall team fit in a structured and objective way.

What if the profile changes during the search?

It happens more often than you'd think — and it's not a problem. We adapt.

If the role, salary or requirements change, we update the job description, search profile and our approach accordingly. We proactively inform you when we notice the market is responding differently than expected, and we help think through how to make the profile more realistic without compromising on quality.

Do you also support hard-to-fill roles or IT profiles?

Yes, absolutely. IT is one of our core specialisations.

Is the Recruitment Sisters approach compliant with the new EU AI Act?

Yes, absolutely. The new EU AI Act (effective August 2026) strictly regulates 'high-risk AI' in recruitment, such as systems that automatically rank resumes. Because we simply don't use these systems and always handle the selection personally, our process is 100% transparent. By choosing our approach, your company avoids any legal risks regarding AI compliance.

How does collaboration work when multiple internal stakeholders are involved?

We agree upfront on who the main contact is and how decisions are made. This prevents delays and miscommunication.

In practice, we often work alongside both a hiring manager and an HR contact. We align on who sees the candidates, who conducts the interviews and who makes the final call. This way, everyone stays informed — and candidates don't get lost in internal back-and-forth.

Can you take on just one vacancy?

Yes. One role is enough to work with our recruitment agency.

Do you also work with SME's?

Yes. Many of our clients are growing SME's looking for a recruitment company that brings structure and actively thinks along.
Even if you have just one vacancy, you can already count on us.

Do you also help with hard-to-find profiles?

Yes. For hard-to-find profiles, we use our experience as headhunters in Belgium, combined with active search, market insights and thorough screening.

This approach works best within our All-in package, where we take care of the entire search, screening and selection process for you.

How much time can I save with your recruitment support?

Managing a vacancy entirely on your own takes an average of 8 to 15 hours per week — from writing and posting the job description to screening CVs, planning interviews and following up with candidates. That's time you don't have if your HR generalist already has a full agenda.

We take that work off your plate. You only sit at the table for the conversations that truly matter: the two or three candidates we shortlist for you.

How quickly can we start?

Within a few days. Once the role is clearly defined and the package selected, we start your recruitment process.

What happens during the digital intake?

In a clear conversation, we map out the role, expectations, context and culture. This allows us, as a recruitment agency, to set the right tone and publish a vacancy that truly resonates with candidates.

How do you handle confidentiality when searching for candidates for our open vacancies?

We follow GDPR rules as a minimum. No CV is ever shared with a client without the candidate’s approval. All information is treated strictly confidentially.

How much does recruitment and selection cost for my company?

We work with four packages, depending on how much you want to handle yourself:

Basic — €500 per month per vacancy
We write the job description, create the visuals and publish it on our jobsite and across our network. You manage the applications and handle the interviews yourself.

Premium — €2,000 per month per vacancy
Everything in Basic, plus placement on LinkedIn and external job boards, targeted ads on Meta and LinkedIn, and an in-depth screening of up to 5 candidates via interview and TalentTester assessment.

All-in — €3,500 per month per vacancy
Full service: active search via LinkedIn Recruiter, complete screening and interviews, and a top 3 of the best candidates ready for your final conversations.

All-in No Cure No Pay — exclusive partnership
Everything in All-in, but you only pay when we find a successful match. This requires an exclusive collaboration for that vacancy.

Do you only need us to screen a candidate you have already found yourself? That is possible via our Screening & Match-check, on an hourly basis — no minimum commitment, you only pay for the hours used.

For which types of roles and profiles can Recruitment Sisters help employers find the right people?

We support roles in administration, logistics, HR, sales, IT and management.

How do you ensure the right match between candidate and organisation?

Our process starts with an in-depth conversation about your organisation, your culture and the team dynamic. We value honest and open communication.
We screen for skills, personality and cultural fit.If needed, we use additional TalentTester assessments, such as the 4-colour personality test or the Big Five.

What guarantees do you offer when finding a suitable candidate?

We do not work with traditional replacement guarantees. A sustainable match is not defined by a clause in a contract, but by the quality of the process upfront.

That is why we invest time in a thorough intake. We listen carefully, ask the right questions and screen carefully for competencies, motivation and cultural fit. We communicate transparently  with you and with the candidate. This approach reduces the risk before someone starts, instead of trying to solve it afterwards.

Our focus is on building strong, long-term matches not on quick placements backed by paperwork.

Our Packages

What is TalentTester and when do you use it?

TalentTester is a personality assessment developed by Nancy Steels, based on the Big Five model and the PACS-4 colour test. It gives a clear picture of how someone works, communicates, collaborates and handles pressure.

We use TalentTester when competencies and a CV alone are not enough to make a confident decision. That is almost always the case for roles where team fit and communication style play a major role.

Candidates receive a clear explanation upfront. The report is readable — no pages of jargon, but concrete insights you can use directly in your interview as an employer.

Why should I outsource candidate screening?

Many companies simply do not have the time to conduct every interview in depth. Yet, it is precisely this screening phase that determines whether you make a strong hire or an expensive mis-hire. By outsourcing candidate screening, you:

  • Save valuable time

  • Gain an objective, external perspective

  • Avoid tunnel vision

  • Reduce the risk of a wrong match

It is targeted support that strengthens your hiring decision, without committing to a full recruitment process.

How is Screening & Match-Check invoiced?

We work with a transparent hourly rate, so you always know exactly what to expect.

  • No minimum commitment

  • No long-term contracts

  • Flexible per candidate

  • Flexible per stage of your selection process

You decide when to involve us and how intensively you want to work together. This keeps your recruitment process agile, cost-conscious, and fully in your hands.

For which companies is Screening & Match-Check a good fit?

Screening & Match-Check is ideal for companies that manage their own recruitment, but would value additional, objective input during the selection process.

It is particularly relevant for:

  • Companies without an in-house HR specialist

  • Entrepreneurs who recruit and select new employees themselves

  • Organisations that feel uncertain about a candidate and want more clarity before making a decision

  • Hiring managers who want to validate their intuition with objective data

This way, you receive flexible recruitment support exactly when you need it, without outsourcing your entire hiring process.

When does candidate screening add real value?

A candidate screening gives you a clear and structured insight into someone’s personality, motivations, and capabilities in a short amount of time. This allows you to make a more confident and well-informed hiring decision.

Candidate screening can support you when you:

  • Find candidates yourself through your network or a job posting, but would value an objective second opinion

  • Feel uncertain about a profile and want to assess whether someone truly fits the role, the team, and your company culture

  • Want additional reassurance before offering a contract

  • Do not have time for extensive selection interviews, but still want a thorough assessment of potential and risks

  • Are choosing between several strong candidates and want to make a well-founded decision

  • Have experienced a mis-hire in the past and want to reduce that risk as much as possible

How much does it cost to hire an external recruiter?

You can engage us on a temporary basis, either per hour or per day, depending on the level of support you need. We are happy to review your situation together and propose a structure that aligns with your goals and budget.

Can I switch packages later?

Yes. You can easily scale up or down.

How does selection work in the All-in package?

Yes. In the All-in package, we build an active talent pool through sourcing, outreach and targeted searches.
We do not operate like a traditional selection agency that simply forwards lists.

Do you also do active search?

Yes. In the All-in package, we build an active talent pool through sourcing, outreach and targeted searches.
We do not operate like a traditional selection agency that simply forwards lists.

How does posting on Indeed and other job boards work?

We always use the logins or subscriptions you already have. If you have an account on Indeed or other job boards, we manage that environment for you. If you don’t have one, we determine together what the best solution is.

How does the TalentTester assessment work?

Candidates go through the PACS 4-colour test and/or the Big Five personality test.

You receive a clear report explaining personality, work style and drivers.

How often do I receive updates?

You receive regular, clear status updates: reach, responses, search progress and recommendations. No overload — just clarity.

Which recruitment package is the right fit for my organisation?

That depends on how much of the recruitment process you want to handle yourself.

  • Basic: you run the interviews, we boost your visibility.

  • Premium: you stay involved, and we take care of recruitment and selection. After your initial shortlist, we conduct in-depth interviews and screen up to five suitable candidates.

  • All-in: you focus on your time, while we handle the search, screening and full selection, delivering a top 3.

Together, we determine which option works best for your team and planning.

Benefits

What experience do you have in finding the right candidates?

Nancy and Hilde Steels have been recruiting together for over 30 years. We specialise in IT recruitment, but also work for SMEs looking for people in logistics, administration, HR, sales, operations and management.

We know the Belgian labour market well — from Antwerp and Mechelen to the rest of Flanders. Hard-to-fill roles and niche profiles are not the exception for us. That is exactly where our approach makes the most difference: we search actively, think along with you and only put forward candidates who truly fit.

Why choose Recruitment Sisters over another job agency?

Because we do not work on volume, but on connection. We do not simply forward CVs, we build sustainable matches.

What are the benefits of working with you as a client?

You always work directly with Hilde or Nancy — not with a junior recruiter or account manager. That makes a real difference in speed, quality and communication.

We select based on competencies, motivation and cultural fit — not on the fastest CV. This means you keep people longer and save costs in the long run.

Our rates are transparent. You know upfront what you pay and what you get.

We work for SMEs and companies that want to hire professionally — whether you have no HR department, or an HR team that already has its hands full. You can work with us from just one vacancy onward.

And if things don't go as planned? We communicate honestly — even when the market is difficult or the profile needs to be adjusted.

Freelance projects

How does your freelance recruitment work for IT consultants?

We help IT freelancers find assignments that match their expertise, availability and preferences — via a standard consultancy contract.

We work with freelancers in Antwerp, Mechelen and the surrounding area, active in areas such as cloud, infrastructure, security, development and analysis. We know our clients well, so we only introduce you when there is a genuine match — not just to fill a spot.

Registration is free. Send your CV or LinkedIn profile via our contact page, or email us directly at hilde.steels@recruitmentsisters.be or nancy.steels@recruitmentsisters.be

Can you help find a freelance IT consultant?

Yes, absolutely. IT is one of our specialisations

How much does it cost to be registered with you as a freelancer?

Nothing. Our mediation is free for freelancers.

Applying for a job

What do I have to include in my CV?

Include any professional experience that is relevant to the position you are applying for, and be as comprehensive as possible. Describe your responsibilities in clear detail and list every step of your career with the exact start and end dates.

Make sure your CV is well-structured and easy to read. Add your contact details, education, skills and language abilities so we get a full and accurate picture of your background.

What should I avoid during a job interview?

The most common mistakes candidates make:

  • Arriving late without letting anyone know — that creates a bad first impression, even if it only happens once.
  • Knowing nothing about the company — you don't need to be an expert, but show that you've done your homework.
  • Speaking negatively about a previous employer — even if you had a difficult experience, stay professional.
  • Being vague about your expectations — just say what you are looking for, including regarding salary.
  • With holding information that will come out later — honesty always works better.

We always prepare our candidates well before an interview. You never walk into a room unprepared.

Is my resume screened by an algorithm or AI?

No, and that's a conscious choice. We use smart tools to organize our work, but we never leave the actual screening to an algorithm. We believe technology can't measure your true motivation or your capacity to learn. That's why we review every profile with a human eye and years of experience. With us, you won't get automatically rejected just because of a missing keyword.

What are the steps in the application process?

1. You apply via one of our vacancies or send us your CV.
2. We review your profile carefully — no algorithm, no automatic rejection.
3. We invite you for an intake: a conversation about your experience, expectations and what matters to you in your next step.
4. Where relevant, you complete a TalentTester assessment — a personality test that gives insight into how you work and communicate.
5. We introduce you to a client when we see a strong match. Never without your approval.
6. We prepare you for the interview and guide you through the process — including after you start.

How much does it cost to be registered with you as a job seeker?

Nothing. Our service is free for job seekers.

    How We Work

    Recruitment and selection

What is the difference between a headhunter and your approach?

A traditional headhunter often focuses purely on sourcing and approaching candidates. We go further. We start with a thorough intake, align on realistic salary expectations, and select candidates not only based on experience, but also on team fit and growth potential. For us, active search is not a goal in itself,  it’s part of a strong and well-structured recruitment and selection process.

    Are you also headhunters?

We’re often asked this question. Yes, we do active search which is often associated with headhunting. But we work differently from traditional headhunters. No quick hunting for candidates, but a thoughtful approach with attention to culture, personality, and long-term fit. That’s how we combine headhunting with true selection.

How does the selection process work in the All-in package?

In the All-in package, we manage the full recruitment and selection process. We screen candidates, conduct interviews, check references when relevant, and present a clear shortlist of top candidates so you can make a well-considered final decision.

Is active search included in recruitment and selection?

Yes, active search is included in our All-in package. This means we proactively approach candidates (for example via LinkedIn and other databases) instead of relying solely on spontaneous applications.

What does recruitment and selection mean within your packages?

    • Basic: we strengthen your vacancy and visibility — you handle the selection yourself.
    • Premium: after your initial selection, we thoroughly screen candidates and can include assessments where needed.
    • All-in: we manage both recruitment (including active search) and the full selection process.

Do you also handle recruitment and selection for permanent employees?

Recruitment and selection are part of our Recruitment-as-a-Service approach. We guide the entire process: from intake and vacancy writing to screening and shortlist advice. The depth of our involvement depends on the package you choose.
